SARCOIDOSIS CONSULTANT DIRECTORY
How to use the Sarcoidosis Consultant Directory:
Search by 'address' and/or 'consultant name' in the search bar above the map. Remember to adjust the search radius (miles). Click the blue map icons to find details of sarcoidosis consultants in your area. Use the external links to find consultant contact details and more information about referrals.
Sarcoidosis or Respiratory Specialists?
Most consultants included in this directory specialise in respiratory medicine because about 90% of sarcoidosis cases involve the lungs. Because of the rarity and multi-system nature of sarcoidosis (and the way the UK healthcare system is organised), consultants who specialise only in sarcoidosis and treat multiple types of sarcoidosis do not really exist. If sarcoidosis seriously affects more than one part of your body you may need referrals to multiple specialists.
Who is Included in the Directory?
We have included consultants who have been highly recommended to us by sarcoidosis patients and who we have checked and verified. If your consultant is not on the list and you think they should be added, we would love to hear from you. Please send their name and hospital an an email to us. If you are a consultant and would like to be listed, please get in touch.
Specialist Centres for Care
Sarcoidosis is one of the most common interstitial lung diseases (ILD). Many of the sarcoidosis specialists in the directory above will work within, or closely with, ILD services in their NHS trust. Below is a list of key ILD centres that SarcoidosisUK is aware of. This information has been included to give a good idea of where the best specialist centres are for sarcoidosis care in the UK. It is not an official or comprehensive list and should be used as a guide only.
